“I am currently a freshman Elementary Education major at Jackson State University, who plans to pursue a teaching career upon graduating in 2019. After graduation, I will seek employment at a local public school district with hopes of inspiring other students to achieve beyond high school.

“My first semester was a pretty good learning experience. It was tough getting used to a new environment and increased work, but overall it helped me to grow as a student and a person. My GPA for last semester was 3.447; not that bad, but there's always room for improvement. I am very grateful for the scholarship given to me for it has helped me buy my books and gather other materials for my classes.
